KL RING is a songwriter and independent electronic music artist from Toronto, Canada.

The music of KL RING (Keith) is piano-based and drums-driven, with vocals and synths being key unifying elements. Melody, rhythm, and lyrics are all of equal importance to Keith as composer and lyricist.

During his formative years growing up in Scarborough (Toronto), Ontario, Keith listened to a lot of New Wave, Dance, and Alternative music. Particularly drawn to synth-based artists, his early and enduring influences include Depeche Mode, New Order, and Eurythmics.

He learned to play drums as a child — initially by teaching himself on makeshift kits he created, and started taking piano lessons soon thereafter — though he would often forgo practice, choosing instead to spend the time writing his own compositions.

With creative interests also including various forms of visual art, Keith earned a diploma in Graphic Design and gained experience in that field. Hence, he also serves as Art Director and Designer for KL RING.

The beautiful, exquisitely nuanced female vocals heard on current and upcoming 2026 releases by KL RING are performed by UK-based singer Lissy.

Though some of the themes expressed within the music and lyrics of KL RING are dark in nature, there is invariably an overarching sense of hope and positivity within each song that he always strives to have shine through.
